Practice Philosophy

My Approach to Therapy

We all struggle in our daily lives.

I believe mental health treatment and therapy can help all of us achieve a more connected, compassionate, authentic and self-disciplined existence for ourselves and those we love.

My job is to help you in your recovery — creating an environment where you feel comfortable evaluating your thoughts, feelings, beliefs and behaviors, and supporting you as mismatches emerge between your intentions and executions in daily life.

More Information About My Practice

I’ve worked with athletes, veterans, young adults, adults, and seniors. I’ve helped them quit using and abusing tobacco, alcohol and drugs, and those experiencing anxiety, depression, anger, suicidal ideation, trauma, homelessness and PTSD.

I am a CBT certified therapist. As such, my primary modality is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). But I have training in Motivational Interviewing, Seeking Safety and Complexity Theory.

My primary treatment populations include anxiety, depression, social and intimate relationships, employment, life transitions and feeling stuck.

I run an intentionally small, part-time private practice.

I book therapy appointments only by appointment. Generally, available times for therapy appointments include weekends, some Fridays and evenings.
