I help people who get emotionally unstuck to live a life in full bloom.

About Me

I help people who get emotionally unstuck to live a life in full bloom.

About Me

I provide a safe and nurturing environment to help individuals, couples, and families on their journey toward better health and a living life at their greatest potential. My clients have told me that they find me to be engaged and responsive in therapy and they appreciate my help in getting them get “unstuck”.

I have 15 years of counseling experience in diverse settings, and in my new practice in Alpharetta, Georgia, I offer individual, couples, family, and group counseling to clients, ages 14+ on a variety of issues, such as depression and anxiety, trauma, developing healthier relationships, stress management, grief, and life transitions. I often integrate mindfulness or art activities to enhance therapy.

I look forward to hearing from you and learning how I can help guide you on your healing journey toward living life in full bloom.

Practice Philosophy

My Approach to Therapy

My counseling philosophy is based on the following four principles:

1. The client is the expert.

I may have the expertise to help you achieve some insight, identify your strengths and resources, develop some skills, or process your emotions, but you are the expert when it comes to who you are, what you believe, feel, or need. You also have the choice on whether something works for you are not and whether to follow therapeutic recommendations. We will work as a team to determine your goals and treatment plan, as well as putting that plan into action.

2. The most important part of therapy is the relationship between client and therapist.

I have found that the quality of the therapeutic relationship is the single most important factor in success in therapy. The therapy session is a microcosm of society and can help clients learn about themselves and their relationships with others.

3. Treatment must be holistic.

In order to guide a client to health and a better sense of well-being, a therapist must treat the whole person. A person can spend years in therapy merely talking about their emotions, and yet never feel better. As a therapist, I look at the physical, mental, emotional, cultural and spiritual aspects of a person to fully understand and help someone grow and heal.

4. It is never too late to change.

People have the power and potential to change regardless of their circumstances in life, their age, their educational background, or economic status. Some might tell themselves, “That’s just the way I am,” I was born that way, or “I’ve been that way all my life,” but I have seen people from all walks and stages of life work through incredible pain and challenges to achieve health and happiness.

More Information About My Practice

In therapy, one size does not fit all. I have learned throughout the years that not all clients benefit from the same therapeutic style or method. I have sought out training in different orientations in order to be versatile and help more people in a holistic manner. In the first session, I will gather background information, discuss what brought you to therapy, your needs and goals, and I will recommend a course of action based on using one or a combination of the following orientations:

Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy
Clinical Hypnotherapy
Imago Relationship Therapy
Emotionally-Focused Therapy
EMDR for Trauma Recovery
Dialectical Behavioral Therapy
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy

I have evening and weekend hours available and offer TeleMental Health Services as well as In-Home Counseling. Please note that insurance does not pay for In-Home Counseling.
