About Me

I had received my marriage family therapist license in 2009. I have been a theapist at CARE: learning center and counseling center since 2010. I have two Master’s Degree. One in psychology with an emphasis on Marraige, Family Therapy and the second degree in psychology with a specialization in Mental Health Administration.
I am still working at a residential treatment center for children and teens, going on 22 years (variety of position: most current nocturnal supervisor, previous for over 15 years as the senior II (program assistant) for the co-ed children’s unit, before that a senior I and a child care worker.
I have over 30 years working with children in one setting or another.
I have a BA in Sociology and Women’s Studies. And a certificate in Early Childhood Education.
I have worked in a shelter for battered women and children. Did an S.T.A.R.T. (Student training in Anger Reduction Techniques) at an elementary school for several years. Taught an Connection Project class for Preschool and Head Start Teachers regarding special needs children. I conducted trainings in different jobs for Staff Orientation, Self Effectiveness Training, Boundaries, Documentation, Parenting classes, Parenting the Adolscent. For childen: anger management, stress managements, boys and girls issues, independent living skills, self esteem and other groups.
At one time I was a Preschool teacher, After School Program Director and Instructional Aide at an elementary school, diferent grade levels, yet focusing on developmental needs kindergarteners.
I have memberships in CAMFT: Californai Association of Marriage Family Therapists; NAPW: National Association of Professional Women.
I have a cartification of recognization for Mental Health Provider of the Year (Califoria State Senate and California State Assembly) in 2002. Multiple employee of the month, week, valuable team player and best role model (1991 to 2007)

I am a contract therapist for CARE. I am currently seeing insurace clients, military client through Military One Source: Values Options. I see some Medi-caid clients if the intake/ insurace vertification person states I can.
All cleints contact the company’s phone number and then they are referred to me. My name can be given to the intake person stating they want to be seen my me. If possble that will occur.
